Default What does "Protective Spirit" actually mean?

Hey all,

After thinking about this Monk Protection spell...I find myself a little confused on how it works. Here is the description it has:

Enchantment Spell. For 5...19...23 seconds, target ally cannot lose more than 10% max Health due to damage from a single attack or Spell.

What isn't clear to me is, is the the 10% max health of my total health? Or is it anytime I'm attacked is that 10% a limit on how much each attack can deal to me (meaning they can't do any more than 10% damage of my total health in each attack)? If so what is 10% amount of?

Am I close?

Its 10% of your curent health for x amount of time for each attack. Its basicly a anti spike protection.

Thanks for the fast response!

That makes sense now. I was also not sure if it was a one time thing or if it was every time you were attacked or cast upon during the duration of the enchantment. It sounds like it is while you maintain the enchantment any attacks or spells cast upon you can't deal more than 10% of your total health at that moment. Am I getting that right?

Protective Spirit limits all damage above 10% of your maximum health. For instance, if you have a maximum health of 480 and Armor with a rating of 60, a Meteor Shower (MS) cast at 16 Fire Magic will normally do 119 damage. Enchanted with Protective Spirit (PS), the MS will only do 48 damage. This is a very effective counter of spikes, as in this case it negates 71 damage with no negative penalty for the caster of PS. However, if an attack does less than 10%, PS will not increase the damage to 10% of maximum health.

Its not of your current health its of your max health.

your max health could be 500 but current health at 200. if you get hit you will take 50 dmg not 20.
